Michigan Library Association’s 2017 Author of the Year, Doc Fletcher, will be sharing his passion for Michigan rivers in this fun filled slide-show presentation. 2018 marks the 10-year anniversary of the release of Doc’s first book, “Weekend Canoeing in Michigan”. To commemorate this, a revised & updated version, “So Many Rivers, So Little Time” has been released. This program will cover several rivers from the book. Get the Paddlers’ Perspective of the Great State of Michigan, winding through thick forests, by dunes, and alongside open spaces as you head downstream on a virtual tour of several rivers stretching from the Lower to the Upper Peninsula.

At the end of Doc’s time with us, a free drawing will be held and one person will win a gift certificate good for a free canoe or kayak day trip. Canoe/kayak livery brochures & state maps will be made available to assist program attendees in planning river trips. For those interested, Doc will sign and sell copies of his canoeing and kayaking books. You don’t have to be a paddling enthusiast to enjoy the program, but you may become one by the time the evening ends. To learn more about Doc’s books, go to www.canoeingmichiganrivers.com.
