The not so happy tale of the “Happiest Millionaire,” was the last live-action project of Walt Disney, founder of the Walt Disney, Company.  Walt Disney is an icon of twentieth century history.  By the 1960s Walt Disney’s company included animated film, live-action film, television, product lines, amusement parks, and more.  This presentation examines, through the prism of history, how Walt Disney’s worldview, management style, personal history, and life experience left a legacy that still impacts twenty-first century American culture.  The 1967 film, “The Happiest Millionaire,” serves as a case study through which to examine Walt Disney’s story.
