Book Snackers is a book discussion group for children in third through fifth grades. This is a fun way for parents to encourage critical thinking, develop discussion skills, promote respect for others’ opinion and stimulate interest in reading.  In addition, Book Snackers provides an opportunity to meet new kids and make new friends. Each month a book is chosen to be read and discussed the following month. The first ten children registering for each meeting may pick up a copy of the next book at the Youth Reference Desk. Miss Linda also organizes games, activities and snacks related to the chosen book. Tying in with this year’s Summer Reading Program “Dream Big Read”, June’s chosen book is Poppy by Avi.
