On April 11, 1970, NASA launched Apollo 13.  Apollo 13 was the 7th manned American mission into space and was intended to land on the moon. After only 2 days in space the mission had to be aborted after an oxygen tank exploded crippling the service module upon which the command module depended.  Despite great hardship caused by limited power, loss of cabin heat, shortage of potable water, and the critical need tojury-rigthe carbon dioxide removal system, the crew returned safely toEarthon April 17. Anthony England was one of the engineering crew that worked to bring the damaged craft and its crew back to Earth safely.  Come hear about the struggles that Mission Control and the crew of Apollo 13 faced over those tense 7 days as the world held its breath. Families are welcome.
