Toddlers and Preschoolers
Drop-In Summer Story Time for toddlers and preschoolers will start on Monday, June 26 and run through Thursday, August 3. We will be meeting outside on the Library terrace adjoining Mill Creek Park North, so make sure you bring along chairs or blankets to sit on.
Story Time will be held on Mondays and repeated on Thursdays at 10:30 am. Books and activities are geared for toddlers and preschoolers. Each program lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Our story times will include picture, pop-up and interactive books, flannel-board stories, songs, puppets, finger plays and other activities that encourage a love of reading.
* In the event of inclement weather please check with the Library for the status of Story Time.
Laugh Factory Comedy and Magic Show in the park – Summer Reading Kick-Off Event

Doug Scheer presents: “Laugh Factory” Comedy and Magic Show. This performance, a perfect combination of wackiness and amazement, will be at Mill Creek Park North. This 45-minute program full of hilarious laughs and audience participation is for all ages. Refreshments will be served at the Farmers Market following the performance. This event kicks off this year’s Summer Reading Program “All Together Now”. Registration is not required.

Mad Science: Radical Robots

In this Radical Robots workshop, learn how to build your very own robot hand to take home in this class that focuses on technology. Explore how robots can be used to make our lives easier. Experiment with robots that can do some extraordinary tasks, infrared robots, robotic arms and even soccer playing robots. Registration is required for this independent program as the presenter does enforce a limit to the class size.
Big Truck and Emergency Vehicle Day

The Dexter District Library will host a large variety of trucks and emergency vehicles for children and adults of all ages to experience, rain or shine. The parking lot will be closed during this event to allow freedom to browse, tour and talk to the owners and operators of the wonderful machines that make our lives easier and safer. Bring your camera – there will be plenty of photo opportunities with the vehicles and special costumed characters, Elephant and Piggie. Registration is not required.

Come see how Science Alive brings the study of science to life by presenting a personalized, interactive experience with an array of live critters.
