The Teen & Tween Summer Reading Program (SRP) is open to students entering grades 5 – 12 in the fall.
Registration begins June 19. You can participate online using the Beanstack web site or app, or participate in person using a paper log.
How the Teen & Tween Program works:
- Register using your preferred method – online or in person.
- Read 2 or more hours a week.
- Check in at the Youth Reference Desk each week beginning June 26 and pick up your weekly prize.
Complete all 6 weeks of the Summer Reading Program and turn in your reading record between Monday, July 31 and Sunday, August 13 to receive a goody bag and automatically be entered into the Final Prize Drawing to be held on Monday, August 14. Goody bags will continue to be available for pick-up until the beginning of the school year while supplies last.

Combat performance group Theatrica Gladiatoria will demonstrate the art of theatrical sword fighting. This is also a hands-on workshop where you’ll get to try it yourself, so be ready to move!

Teens, can you survive the MiLibraryQuest this summer? Face all manner of ghasts and ghouls as you solve the mystery of their appearance in our state. Puzzles and riddles will aid you in the quest to Survive Together Now beginning July 1st! Participate in the Quest for a chance to win a gift card to a local business.
Complete the virtual quest at any time on our own. Want to work on the Quest in person with other teens? Join us at the library on Wednesday, July 26 at 3:00 pm for our “Michigan Monsters and MiLibraryQuest” event.
Humane Society Presentation and Shelter Dog Visit

The Humane Society of Huron Valley will do a presentation for teens and tweens. Just like learning another language, this program provides the tools to decode what animals are telling us by identifying animal body language characteristics. Participants in this program will learn how to interact safely with animals by reading animals’ non-verbal cues to assess their feelings.
There will also be an opportunity to meet an adoptable dog from the animal shelter.
