In commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor, join Larry Martin as he presents his interview with WWII veteran, Colin McKenzie.
Colin McKenzie was born in Detroit in 1916 and went into the Navy at Great Lakes Boot Camp before WWII in 1940. He was sent aboard the USS Pennsylvania, a large battleship stationed at Pearl Harbor. He was an anti-aircraft gun loader when the attack on December 7th, 1941 happened and was horribly burned. He was then transferred to the European Theatre of Operations where he fought aboard a destroyer that took part in the D-Day landing at Normandy France. In his interview, Colin McKenzie gives great insight to both major battles that were just the beginning of the end of WWII.
About the Presenter:
Larry Martin has interviewed over 100 veterans of WWII. He hopes to educate further generations on this fascinating and unique history and foster an appreciation for the hardships endured by all war veterans so that we may all live in a free country. In this program, Larry will share a recorded interview of WWII veteran Colin McKenzie, share photos, and be open for a Q&A session.
