Join us in welcoming Dexter Harpist, Carol Kappus as she discusses her musical journey as an award-winning Celtic harper and singer specializing in the music of Scotland. Carol will discuss her passion for life, music and her Scottish culture. Come meet this talented musician who proudly calls Dexter her home.
About the presenter:
Carol Kappus plays and sings traditional songs, songs of Robert Burns, and songs in Scots Gaelic. She teaches and performs in the Midwest and Scotland. She has studied Scots Gaelic at the Atlantic Gaelic Academy and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. She has won several Scottish Harp Society of America and Scottish Mòd competitions and does her own arrangements of the songs she performs. She has published many books of her compositions and arrangements and her articles and arrangements appear frequently in Folk Harp Journal.

This program is part of the Dexter District Library’s yearlong Bicentennial program – “We Are Dexter.” Every month from January through December the Library will host a program featuring individuals and groups that make up the Dexter community. These presentations will include artists, authors, musicians and individuals who have a hobby, talent, experience or story that makes them part of the fabric of our town.
