PRE-INSTALL

1. Click the “Apple” icon in the top left corner of your screen.
2. Click System Preferences
3. Click Security and Privacy
4. Click the padlock icon in the lower left to unlock the options
5. Enter your password when prompted
6. Click “Unlock”
7. Make note of what the default setting was under “Allow Apps Downloaded From:” and then change that setting to “Anywhere”, and then click “Allow from Anywhere”
8. Leave this menu open so that you can change it back to that default setting when you are finished

INSTALL

1. Download the application from here: https://dexter.lib.mi.us/wifi/Mac-print-control.zip
2. Open your downloads folder, click on install Mac-print-control.mpkg
3. Install Apple Mac Print Control and Accept all the default options

LOG IN

1. Find and open PrintControlApp (Open Finder->Applications)
2. Login with a library card or guest pass

PRINT

1. Open document that needs to be printed
2. Choose Print (Command+P)
3. Select Wireless Printer
4. A confirmation box will appear briefly
   

 

 

 

 

 

5. Go to the Print Release Station upstairs to collect your print job

LOG IN

1. Go to this web site and log in with your library card number / password:
https://smartalecplus.smartalecprint.com/?id=TLN

2.  Press “Choose File”, browse to the file you wish to print, and then click upload.  You may now upload multiple files at a time.  You don’t need to be inside the Library building for this step, so the print jobs can be sent from home if you wish.  Alternatively, you can email the files as attachments to: smartalec@smartalecprint.com, attach directly from Google Drive, or paste a URL you desire to have printed.

3.  Once you have all the files uploaded, sign into the Print Release Station on the 2nd Floor of the Library, and you will see the files you had uploaded previously.  Click them to select, then click “Continue”

4.  You will be shown a summary of the charges.  Make your selection for Black & White or Color printing.  Additional funds may be added to the library card number at the circulation desk.
