Engineer and Bridge Director, Kim Nowack, P.E. presents the history of transportation in the straits area and the building of the Mackinac Bridge.  Learn about what it takes to maintain the Mighty Mac throughout the year and related current bridge related events.

About the presenter

Kimberly K. Nowack, P.E. received her Civil Engineering degree from Michigan Technological University in 1985. She immediately started her career with the Michigan Department of Transportation.  In 2002, Kim accepted the position of Chief Engineer for the Mackinac Bridge Authority. She worked in this position for 17 years.  Kim was appointed to the position of Bridge Director of the Mackinac Bridge in 2019 and is the first woman to hold either of these positions in the Bridge Authority’s 65+ year.
