The Dexter District Library will host “Michigan’s Most Dangerous Women” with true-crime author Tobin Buhk. The program will explore some of the wildest women in Michigan history. Take a peek behind the walls of the old Detroit House of Corrections, Michigan’s only penal institution for women. Meet a serial poisoner who killed over a dozen people because she wanted to dress in black and attend the funerals. Discover a con artist knows as “Queen of the Underworld,” and find out why a wife used an ax to sever her marriage. Meet these and other wild and intriguing characters in this fascinating talk about a unique segment of Michigan history.
About the Presenter:
Tobin Buhk is a freelance author specializing in historic true crime. He has published several books many dealing with Michigan murders.
