Jim Gill Concert in the park – Summer Reading Kick-Off Event
Wednesday, June 22
11:00 am – 12:00 pm
In-Person at Mill Creek Park North – All Ages
Summer Reading Program kicks off when the Library welcomes musician Jim Gill for a free outdoor performance of A Sing-a-thon of Celebrated Songs in Mill Creek Park North, adjoining the Library. Jim Gill is a renowned musician and author, nationally known for celebrating active play. In concert, Jim strums energizing rhythms on his banjo while everyone sings, claps, spins and dances along to his silly and inspiring musical games. Each concert is more than a show to watch – it is an opportunity for family play. Everyone is welcome and no registration is required.
Everyone is invited to register for this year’s Summer Reading Program “Oceans of Possibilities.” This year’s theme focuses both on exploring the realm of the sea as well as encouraging readers of all ages to discover new ideas, interests and pursuits. Registration for the Summer Reading Program may be done in person at the Library, or online through the Beanstack website (dexter.beanstack.org) or Beanstack app available in app stores for mobile devices.
The Library has updated its programming attendance requirements. Face coverings are optional but encouraged in group settings. Face covering requirements are subject to change without notice. The Library will continue to monitor COVID-19 conditions and the Library Board will review these requirements on a monthly basis.
