The Glass Academy is a family-owned, community-oriented glass art experience destination. Established to educate the global public about the wonders of glass, share life-long memories through creativity and exploration, and with the goal of producing the highest quality American-crafted glass products. The presenters will discuss the history of glass, why they do what they do and bring tools, color and other items to pass around and discuss. This is a 2-hour program with plenty of time for Q & A. (Note: this program is not a glassblowing demonstration. It is a lecture with Q & A time)

About the presenters:

The Glass Academy is the creative brainchild of founding artists Chris Nordin and Michelle Plucinsky. Oftentimes, you will find them in the studio directing our shows, creating displays, or working on custom orders for clients worldwide.

With an extensive background in the glass arts with Bachelors of Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, and Alfred University in New York (respectively), both artists have a wide resume of skills and job-related experience that pushed them to open their own private studio and share their unique talents and gifts with the world.

Registration is appreciated. Scroll down to register on the Library’s events calendar or call 734-426-4477 (ext. 120)

This Program is part of the 2025 Adult Summer Reading Program: Color Our World. Attendees do not have to be participating in the Adult Summer Reading Program to attend.  Families are welcome.
