2019 Fall Story Times

Registration for Fall Story Times begins Monday, August 26.  Fall Story Times for toddlers and preschoolers will start on Monday, September 16 and run until Thursday, November 7. Registration is required, parents or caregivers of children may register in person at the Library or by calling 734-426-4477. Space is limited so registration will be on a first come first served basis. 

Children 18 months to 3 years of age may sign up for one Toddler Story Time. Toddler Story Times are held on Mondays or Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Children under 18 months may attend, however books and activities are geared for toddlers. Children 3 to 5 years of age may sign up for one Preschool Story Time. Preschool Story Times are held on Mondays or Tuesdays at 11:30 am.   Combined Toddler/Preschool Story Times are held on Wednesdays at 10:30 am, registration is required.

Drop-In Family Story Times for all ages will be offered on Thursdays at 10:30 am in the lower level meeting room from September 19 to November 9.  There will also be two special evening Drop-In Story Times on Tuesday, September 24 and Tuesday, October 22, both at 6:30 pm.  Infants are welcome at story times with their siblings.  Parents or caregivers are required to attend. Daycare Centers are welcome to all Drop-In Story Times.  Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Fall Story Times for children include picture, pop-up and interactive books, flannel-board stories, songs, puppets, finger plays, crafts and other activities that encourage a love of reading to your child.

August Events for Kids, Tweens and Teens

Tuesday, August 13
Final Prize Drawing for all Summer Reading Programs participants who completed the program.  Goody bags will continue to be given out until Labor Day for kids and teens who have finished up the program.

Pokemon Movie & More
Kids in grades 3 through 6, enjoy snacks while watching Pokemon Detective Pikachu (Rated PG) on the big screen.  Bring your Pokemon cards to trade and play with others.  Registration is required, call 734-426-4477 to register.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Join us for a special TAG meeting as we thank all of our amazing summer volunteers and welcome new members.  Everyone in grades 7 through 12 is invited to attend.  Come find out how you can volunteer at the Library throughout the year.  Pizza lunch provided, registration is required.

Dancers Edge Presents: Music and Movement for Preschoolers    
Children ages 6 and under, along with their caregiver, are invited to participate in a special dance class with Jennifer Smith of Dancers Edge.  Filled with music, movement and playful interaction, this class is designed for the youngest dancers.  Get ready to wiggle, jump and move to music, props and fun.  Refreshments and a simple craft will be offered following the program.  Registration is not required.
