Based on the life and times of Aretha Franklin, the woman known all over the world as the Queen of Soul, this story follows her beginnings back to when she’d first come onto the music scene as a singer in the choir at her father’s church when she was a young girl growing up in Detroit.  Despite many difficulties in her adult life she still becoming one of the most recognizable voices in music and produced songs that would be known and enjoyed by many generations. Rated: PG-13, 2 hours 25 minutes

This program will be onsite in the Library’s Lower Level meeting room. Registration is required. Register below or call the Library at 734-426-4477 (ext 120).

Note: Due to the persistence of the COVID-19 virus and the advent of the omicron variant, all attendees at in person programs, who can medically tolerate a face covering, will be required to wear face coverings.

During the Winter of 2022, the Dexter District Library will require registration for all indoor, in-person programs.  Registrants will need to register all members of their party.  During this time, only pre-registered attendees will be seated.   Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.  The Library will continue to monitor COVID-19 conditions and the Library Board will review these requirements on a monthly basis.
