Introduction to Genetic Genealogy is a PowerPoint presentation by Mary Henderson, professional genetic genealogist with Genetic Genealogy Research, LLC.  Geared towards people who have done DNA testing, or are thinking about doing DNA testing, this program will cover basic human genetics, the types of DNA tests that are available, the major DNA testing companies and how to interpret your DNA results.  Mary Henderson has 45+ years of experience with traditional, document-based genealogy, and 7+ years of experience with genetic genealogy.  Mary uses genetic genealogy in conjunction with traditional genealogy research to help adoptees identify their biological parents, and to help people identify and solve misattributed parentage, and other brick walls, in their family trees.  She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, and is a member of, and serves as Treasurer of, the Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County.

This program will be approximately 1.5 hours long with some Q & A time. Register at the Adult Service Desk or call the library at 734-426-4477.
