Dexter’s Bicentennial year is finally here and the Library is preparing a variety of events to celebrate. Every month from January through December the Library will host a “We Are Dexter” program. This program will feature individuals and groups that make up the Dexter community. These presentations will include artists, authors, musicians and individuals who have a hobby, talent, experience or story that makes them part of the fabric of our town.
To start our series, join us in welcoming authors Bev Hill, Carol Jones, Nancy Van Blaricum and Jan Weaver as they discuss the Dexter Area Historical Society’s publication, “Dexter, Michigan Then and Now Celebrating 200 Years.” As current Board Members of the Dexter Area Historical Society and longtime residents of the community, these presenters have many historical facts and both public and personal stories to share. They are a wealth of knowledge about the history of Dexter.
This program will be in the Library’s lower-level meeting room. Families are welcome to attend. Registration is appreciated, but not required. Scroll down to register or call the library at 734-426-4477. This program will be in the Library’s Lower Level Meeting Room.
Copies of “Dexter, Michigan Then and Now Celebrating 200 Years” will be available for purchase for those interested.
