Let’s gather all together now for this 2023 Summer Reading launch event. Professional Storytellers Jane Fink, Steve Daut and Genot Picor will share stories about times people came together and formed unique historical communities. Jane will tell of the overnight community that sprang up in 1849, around Sutters Mill, California, when gold was discovered and the great Gold Rush began. Jane’s great grandfather journeyed from Wales to California seeking his fortune during the gold rush. Steve will tell a “mash up” of his experiences with community clean ups after Hurricane Camille (1969) and Hurricane Maria (2017). Genot will share stories from the French communities that existed in Michigan in the 1710s to 1800.

This program will be in the Library’s Lower Level meeting room. Registration is required. Scroll down to register or call 734-426-4477 (ext. 120).

This program is part of the 2023 Adult Summer Reading Program: All Together Now.
