Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

Today there is a lot of discussion regarding legal and illegal immigration. Do you understand the process of becoming a Naturalized United States Citizen? Whether you would like to be more informed on the topic or if you yourself would like to be on the path to U.S. Citizenship, this program will answer many of your questions on what it takes to become a Naturalized Citizen of the United States.

Join Frank Castria, Community Relations Officer, with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Department as he explains how immigration works and the steps involved in becoming a U.S. Citizen.  This will be a 1-hour slideshow presentation with Q & A time at the end. Register at the Adult Service Desk or call the library at 734-426-4477.

This Program is part of the Washtenaw Community Read. You do not have to be a participant in the Washtenaw Community Read to attend.  All are welcome to attend.
