Harry Houdini performed in Detroit 19 times between 1894 and 1926. Audiences witnessed nearly all his increasingly dangerous signature tricks firsthand, and saw his star rise from the bottom of show bills to very top. Tour Houdini’s Detroit and discover the macabre link between the city and history’s most famous magician.

About the presenter:

Jeremy Dimick is the Director of Collections & Curatorial at the Detroit Historical Society. He holds a B.S. in History/Museum Studies and a M.S. in History from Central Michigan University. He has served as Curator of Collections at the Sloan Museum & Longway Planetarium and as History Specialist/ Community Programs Coordinator at the Michigan Historical Museum.
