The pandemic has taken a significant toll on many people’s mental health, but dark thoughts can affect people at any time.  On Wednesday, September 28 at 7:00 pm join us at the Library for QPR: Question Persuade, Refer suicide prevention training.  Led by instructor Sarah Wilczynski, this presentation will help attendees understand the common causes of suicidal behavior, identify warning signs and techniques on how to question, persuade and refer individuals in crisis to appropriate support.  This program is targeted to educators, first responders and hospital staff but any caring individual will gain insight and tools to help people in crisis.

Wilczynski is the Mental Health Awareness and Training Coordinator for the Chelsea Hospital. In this role Sarah is responsible for implementing evidence-based mental health awareness trainings, supporting youth in developing a stigma reduction campaign, identifying resources, and working with community organizations. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in health communication from Grand Valley State University.  No registration is necessary.
