Watch the movie for free on Kanopy, check out the DVD at the library or watch the movie on your favorite streaming service and join the discussion on the specified day. Attend every meeting or just pick and choose the titles that appeal to you! (Note: You will also have the option of viewing some of the Reel Talk movies onsite at the Library. Check the Library’s Event Calendar for the Friday Night Movie for Adults, the Friday Afternoon Movie for Adults and the MANHATTAN SHORT Film festival, movie selection.)

Join us for a discussion of the movie: “Once Upon a River” on October 18, 7:00 p.m. You may watch the movie at the Library’s Friday Afternoon Movie for Adults on Friday, October 15, 1:00 p.m., check out the DVD from the Library, watch the movie at home on Kanopy or watch it on your favorite streaming service. Attend the Reel Talk Zoom meeting on October 18, 7:00 p.m. for a fun discussion with other film enthusiasts.

The Reel Talk Movie Discussion meeting are virtual Zoom events. Register below or call the Library at 734-426-4477 (ext 120). Zoom login information will be emailed to you the day before the meeting.
About Kanopy:
The popular on-demand film streaming service Kanopy is now available free to Dexter District Library patrons. Library cardholders whose cards begin with 29221 can access Kanopy and sign up to start streaming films instantly by visiting https://dexter.kanopy.com. If you have one of our older library cards that begins with 29082, please stop by the Library and we’ll upgrade it free. Films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for Android/Chromecast, iOS/AppleTV, Amazon FireTV and Tablets (not Firesticks), or Roku. You may check out up to 15 titles (plays) per card, per month (temporarily increased from 10/month for the Coronavirus pandemic.). The loan period is 72 hours (3 days.) Need help with Kanopy? September 15, Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – Four Good Days (2020) – (note: this movie is available on Kanopy & will also be shown at the Library on September 10, 6:00pm, at the Friday Night Movie for Adults)
October 4, Monday, 7:00 p.m. – Discussion of the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival 2021 nominees – (Note: these films will be shown at the Library on September 26, 1:30pm, September 30, 6:00pm and October 3, 1:30pm. Register and attend any 1 of the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival showings and then join the Reel Talk, Zoom meeting, on October 4, 7:00pm to discuss the movies.)
October 18, Monday, 7:00 p.m. – Once Upon a River (2019) – (note: this movie is available on Kanopy & will also be shown at the Library on October 15, 1:00pm as the Friday Afternoon Movie for Adults)
November 15, Monday, 7:00 p.m. – Minari (2021) – (note: this movie is available to check out on DVD & will also be shown at the Library on November 12, 6:00pm as the Friday Night Movie for Adults. This movie is NOT on Kanopy at this time)
December 6, Monday, 7:00 p.m. – Christmas, Again (2021) – (note: this movie is available on Kanopy or can be checked out, on DVD, through the Library’s shared system)
